EXPLORE THE NATURAL WORLD
Science treks are designed for all students at Walden (K-12) and their families and friends. The purpose is to expose participants to the world of science around them. Most of the time the adventure correlates to what is going on in Mr. Gary Webb's science class. The seminal work of Henry David Thoreau from which our school derives its name –Walden–promotes a reverent appreciation for nature and the wholesome benefits of simply taking a walk in the woods. We believe the Walden Science Treks pay homage to our ideals of celebrating transcendental philosophy and curiosity in discovering new things about the fascinating natural world.
MEET the Expedition Leader
Mr. Gary Webb is the faculty sponsor and leader of the Walden Science Treks. A longtime educator and scholar, Mr. Webb is thrilled to share his knowledge about scientific phenomena and strives to work with families and students in making Walden more environmentally-conscious and aware of natural preservation. If you have any questions about Science Treks, please feel free to email Mr. Webb.
