Based on 2024-25 enrollment
“Students at Walden embrace curiosity. They seek not only to discover themselves but seek out other perspectives...our diversity nurtures worldly compassion and understanding. ”
Walden Equity - Partnership with West End School
Walden strives to ensure accessibility to as many mission-appropriate students as the school can serve, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. As such, Walden began its scholarship program with West End School (WES) in 2013 to enable WES graduates to attend Walden tuition-free.
In 2022, Walden was awarded $100,000 from The Edward E. Ford Foundation to support diversity scholarships in our High School. This award was in consideration of our long-standing relationship with Louisville's West End School.
The partnership with WES continues to support Walden’s deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Walden knows that the school is enriched for all when there is greater socioeconomic and ethnic diversity in its student population.
Walden Pride
In accordance with our mission of acceptance and equality, Walden proudly encourages a broadminded culture within and outside of the school. Regardless of your sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, you are always welcome at Walden.
From our annual Pride Day and LGBTQ+ club to marching in the Kentuckiana Pride Parade, our students, faculty, and families openly participate in supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

TOGETHER, WE STAND FOR EQUALITY AND JUSTICE
OUR NATION IS ENGAGING IN AN URGENT AND MUCH-NEEDED CONVERSATION ABOUT RACIAL INJUSTICE IN THIS COUNTRY.
At Walden, we recognize the importance of the current moment and want to assist our families and, particularly, our students, as they process and take part in the national dialogue of racial injustice. Celebrating Black History Month
The Allies for Racial Equity (A.R.E.) Club renamed our Periodic Table of Black History to Walden’s Periodic Table of Black Excellence. A.R.E. updated not only the periodic table's name to promote Black excellence within the culture, but they have focused on adding young change makers to the installation.
Periodic Table of Black Excellence
In honor of Black History Month and the legacy of African Americans, the A.R.E. Club created a Periodic Table of Black Excellence that celebrates groundbreaking figures accompanied by biographies and quotes. The periodic table is displayed on campus for all students, faculty, and visitors to engage with as a visual educational installation. Throughout its lifetime, the Periodic Table of Black Excellence installation will be continuously updated with new historical figures and information.
