TOGETHER, WE STAY INVOLVED
At Walden our doors are always open to our families. We encourage a high level of involvement and provide opportunities for all parents, no matter what their schedule, to participate in their child’s school experience.
All parents are members of the Walden Parent Association, which organizes an annual speaker series, manages all school volunteer opportunities, conducts a new-parent mentor program and coordinates a number of school-wide events throughout the year. In addition, Walden parents regularly serve on the Board of Trustees, participate daily as classroom parents and reading buddies, and are actively involved in the school community for such enjoyable events as Thoreau Day, Grandparent's Day and the Walden Chili Cook-off.
WALDEN PARENT ASSOCIATION
The Walden Parent Association (WPA) supports Walden’s mission and cultivates an atmosphere of volunteerism, fellowship, and respect. It opens communication among parents, students, and staff supports fundraising, and social and educational activities for both Walden School and the community at large. Every Walden parent is a member of the WPA. You have the privilege and opportunity to take part in decisions that directly affect your children. Your opinions matter, so please take part and join us.
In past years, the WPA proudly purchased SMARTBoards, patio furniture for the library courtyard, microscopes for the high school science labs, nine amplified audio systems for classroom use, and a new stage curtain and blinds.
