5th-6th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Position Description
Walden School is seeking a Middle School Social Studies teacher (5th & 6th Grade) for the 2026-27. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching history, including analyzing sources, making connections, chronological reasoning, and building evidence-based arguments.

This role focuses on implementing Common Core Standards through experiential, student-centered learning and fostering a love of history while helping students connect past and present through critical thinking.

In addition to teaching, the position includes serving as an advisor, supporting students’ social-emotional growth, and mentoring. Experience working with diverse student populations is highly valued.

Position Description
Walden School is seeking a 7th and 8th Grade Math teacher and student advisor for the 2026-27 school year. The 7th and 8th Grade math teacher is responsible for the math instruction, curriculum development in the area of mathematics, and student-centered classroom activities associated with mathematics in upper middle school. We firmly believe at Walden that the most important duty of this position is developing a solid foundation in mathematical reasoning for our students.

We’re looking for an experienced educator with a passion for teaching science—including life, physical, and earth & space sciences—as well as engineering and design practices. This role focuses on implementing NGSS, fostering 21st-century skills, experiential learning, and student-centered pedagogy.

The ideal candidate will inspire a love of science and scientific thinking, create hands-on laboratory and inquiry-based experiences, collaborate with colleagues, and mentor students. As an advisor, you will also guide social/emotional learning in advisory lessons. Experience teaching diverse populations is highly valued.
