Pride Day 2023

April 21, 2023 - Walden School celebrated K-12 Pride Day on Friday, April 21st! Facilitated by Walden High School's Pride Club, all students were invited to participate in a variety of fun and educational activities to promote inclusivity within our community. Our celebration included read-aloud storytimes, cookie decorating, bracelet making, an egg-run relay, and a selection of other age-appropriate team-building games and activities.

Walden School supports protest of the Anti-LGBTQ+ bills being proposed in the Kentucky government.

On February 24, 2023, organized by the Walden Pride Club, students in Grades 7-12 participated in an optional walkout. Some faculty also attended the protest to show their support.

While we recognize our privilege as a private school, many of us have friends and family that attend public school. Graduates of Walden may also attend public universities in Kentucky. As an accepting and supportive school to all its students, we feel a personal responsibility to stand up for our fellow students across Kentucky who are not attending Walden and do not have guaranteed support from their school.

Walden hopes that with enough voices from students across Kentucky, including all manner of schools, public, private, religious, or other, Kentucky will understand the harm these bills will inevitably cause and get rid of the discriminatory bills.
