Join us in applauding the 2026 Hall of Honor inductees:

Maris Elder (Posthumously)
Maris Elder served Walden for 28 years in roles including Social Studies Teacher, Middle School Director, Academic Dean, and Interim Head of School. Her unwavering dedication to her students and colleagues left a legacy that will endure for generations.

Debbie Kramer (Posthumously)
As an Art teacher, Debbie Kramer ensured every student felt seen and confident in their creative abilities through her passion for art and nature. Her classroom was a sanctuary of belonging, and her influence lives on through the beauty and joy she inspired in others.

Anne ‘81 & Doug ‘82 Proffitt
Anne and Doug Proffitt exemplify Walden’s values through their work as a Botanical Artist and board member of the Louisville Audubon Society and a Broadcast Journalist for WHAS-11, respectively. Together, they demonstrate the profound impact of living with conscience and a commitment to community stewardship.

Mary Stone
Serving as Board Chair from 2021–2024, Mary Stone provided visionary leadership and established high standards for governance and policy. She continues to support Walden’s mission by contributing her expertise to the school’s grant writing efforts.

Donna Whitis
As Walden’s 7th & 8th Grade Mathematics teacher, Donna Whitis deeply understood her students and empowered them to excel both in the classroom and in life. Her lasting impact is seen in the many alumni who return to credit her for the confidence to pursue their lifelong dreams.
