GREEK FESTIVAL

2nd and 7th Grade

Greek Festival

Monday, January 30
9:30-11:00am

Second and 7th Graders are asked to wear Greek attire (e.g., toga, chiton, or peplos) and tennis shoes for our 17th annual Greek Festival. Check the internet for toga instructions (don’t worry, students aren’t being graded on attire – it’s just to get everyone in the right mood). Here are sample directions to make a chiton or peplos.

Festivities will begin with the grand entrance of the city-states for the Olympic games at 9:30am in Walden’s Gym. Enjoy the excitement of the javelin throw, foot races, and the breathtaking chariot race! Olympic contestants must wear sneakers! Students’ Ancient Greek-inspired artwork will be on display in the library. Finally, all students will enjoy a feast of Greek culinary delights for lunch.
